Searching and Filtering

The first step in the Rental Finder is telling it what you're looking for. The filters are the same whether you're on a property's homepage finder or in the Guest Portal search.

Pick dates

The date range slider lets you pick rentals from 1 to 30 days. As you slide:

  • The start date picks itself if you only choose an end date, and vice versa
  • The price preview on each result card updates to reflect the selected length

💡 Tier discounts: longer rentals often qualify for tier discounts. The price card adjusts as your slider passes the next tier threshold (e.g. 7 days → 20% off).

Quick-date pills

For common windows, click a pill instead of using the slider:

  • Today
  • Tomorrow
  • This weekend (Friday-Sunday)
  • Next 7 days
  • Next weekend

These pre-fill the date range; you can then tweak with the slider.

Choose category

If the finder is configured with categories (e.g. on a hotel's homepage that splits rentals by type), you'll see a swipeable category carousel:

  • Scooters
  • Dirtbikes
  • Beach gear (kayaks, paddleboards)
  • Bikes
  • Etc.

Picking a category narrows results. Picking "All" shows everything.

Pick owner / vendor

Some areas have multiple rental operators. The owner dropdown lets you filter to a specific provider (e.g. "Ally / Rent a Scooter Tulum") or leave it open for all.

Units needed

For when you need more than one unit (a group tour wants 4 scooters, not 1):

  • Bump the Units field to the count you need
  • Results are filtered to products with at least that many available for the selected dates

Free-text search (Guest Portal)

If you're in the Guest Portal at <region>.hilucy.com, the search bar lets you type queries:

  • "scooter Tulum"
  • "yoga class beachfront"
  • "apartment 2 bedroom"

Results show two ranked sections:

  • Listings — properties matching your query
  • Products — specific rentable / bookable items

Scope (Guest Portal)

The search supports three scopes:

  • Region (default) — within your current region only
  • All — across all regions (useful for trip planning)
  • Nearby — within a small radius of your geolocated position

What "no results" means

If you see no results:

  • Try wider dates — the inventory may be booked out
  • Drop the units count — even 1-unit availability disappears fast in peak season
  • Switch the owner dropdown to "All" — you may be filtering too narrow
  • Ask Lucy — sometimes a chat conversation surfaces options the filters miss
